i guess i have to say that im not too excited for this card in total. i clarify, that it shouldnt be ppv. i think fitch will grind it out. putting aside the gut feeling of bjs fighting spirit and fitchs new vegetarian life-style. itll end up on the canvas sometime, even with bjs good boxing and bjj. fitch will stay on top and control. yes, i do like bj and i wouldnt mind if he got the win. : )

i hope bisping gets ktfo really. and im pulling for rivera. i dont want to see bisping outpoint him tho but is possible. lets see ufc 100 all over again.

i know siver thinks he can grapple with sot. only if he rocks him really. as much as i want to go against sot. hes going to win it in the end via sub or ud.

and i have to go with mark hunt in the prelims. war hunt, get a W.

*also, how could i forget lytle and fisher!! lytle is the man. hope both these men leave with their hands raised.

i cant see mir tkoing CC standing. i still think theres a gap between their striking skills. i think CC has the advantage with his footwork and handspeed. he'll be catching mir with straights.
BUT idk if CC will be able to stand back up if mir manages to take him down. he was feinting barry out pretty easily and landing punches, im sure mir will look the same in the standup department except he wont floor CC

Lil Nog vs Bader

this ones tough, as i love both fighters. bader is dangerous the first and ahalf rounds. he throws everything in his punches and is a strong wrestler. but i feel he gasses rather quickly. nog is nog. hes tough and can keep on fighting. idk if he'll gather enough points thoughout the fight standing or on the ground to win. im going with bader.

just like nog and bader, i love both these fighters. i dont think its going to be remotely close to their first fight. i think lytle will get the better of the standup in this fight, and when it does hit the canvas i dont think he'll be hurting too much.

sherk needs to use his strengths! come on! dunham is tough and is on a great winning spree. his last three fights shows he can give sherk a run for his money. if sherk comes in determined to win the smart way, im going with him. but i dont think he can finish. dunham looks composed on the canvas. i can see sherk controlling him if hes able to take him down.

have a few fights that should be pretty good this upcoming weekend.

for the main, co-main event we have Penn/Edgar 2, and the Couture/Toney fight.

Edgar/Penn 2

one thing i hope that changes this time around is penn decision to initiate a takedown. i feel strongly that he can hold edgar down, more specifically control and pass any guard edgar has during the course of the fight. standup is tricky. edgars very quick and moves well. an advantage i think penn has is his jab, maybe he'll use it to setup some of his blows and work for a takedown.

i have penn actually stopping edgar this time with a submission

Couture/Toney

everyone probably thinks itll play out with randy somehow getting in the inside and tripping toney to the ground and finishing him with a gnp or a submission

im picking toney. hes going to tko randy.

im not trying to be different or if toney somehow wins, rub it in ppls faces saying i had it right while the whole group called it differently. its just a call.

ill back my claims with something. i just feel randy has been getting wobbled too easily and frequently in his past few fights. i think toney will land something within the first two rounds(because thats how long the fight SHOULD last, for either of them).

dont know the order but we have Maia/Miranda. Florian/Maynard. Davis/Diaz.

dont know too much about miranda other than he tkod the crow.
so this will make my pick somewhat easier and as non caring.

i have maia winning via sub.

he took some good shots from anderson and looked good. looked to have some guts standing up. some sort of machismo feel to him. i think he'll do enough in the ground and take mranda down and get the sub.

Florian/Maynard

the fight im looking most foward to in this main event.
i was never much of a fan of kenflo even less so of maynard.

but i must admit his improvement over the last few years and impressive display of his fighting ability are really turning me away from the dark side for kenny.

i think kennys standup will the be factor in this fight. he's going to beat up gray standing. gray doesnt have the reach, very basic boxing. gray will be looking for the takedown. i think this fight will end standing but if it ends up on the ground hes only diving into a pool with a shark. on the canvas hes in trouble with kennys relentless attacks both with submissions and his punches/elbows. also, i dont think he can hold kenny down for long. kenny will find it back to his feet.

idk if this is me undermining gray or just overestimating kenflo. we'll see fight night.

Davis/Diaz

honestly i felt diaz was going to lose his first ww fight against markham. my imagining of the fight was completely different than how it played out. i thought nate was going to be controlled on the fight for three rounds and that was it.
nate being controlled. idk how long that will burn with me but thats a fault i think he has.

i have davis taking this because of his standup, this may not even end up on the canvas. itll be a standup bout with davis getting the better with points

didnt have a comp till today, so ill just post my thoughts about the leben and lesnar fights

i still dont know how leben pulled it off. i just dont see him being that great of a fighter, but proved me wrong. he was frankenstein the second round. but he outlasted sexyama and finished him. gg

as for the brock fight, it felt like i was the only one cheering him on at the place i was at. he was getting pounded the first round, and i was hoping and praying the ref wouldnt stop it and he didnt, he could see that brock was still moving and being aware of what was going on. the second round tho, shane was tiiired. i loved the look on ppls faces when brock took it

im late with this post. but i felt this was a obligatory post.
i think with just the opening seconds the fight was fedors. looked like he already set the pace he wanted. threw good strikes(while werdum ducked his head and threw some back)and knocked down werdum
he negated a triangle attempt quite easily BUT i just think the second one came back too swiftyly and too quickly and fedor didnt catch the move on time

no shame losing to werdum tho, kudos to him

just hate how all the trolls, haterz came out once fedor did lose and started posting nonsense

its just aggravating.

i have to start from the end. i didnt catch the whole fiasco but i ran back and caught most of it.
i dont have the words to put on what ill effects this might have on future shows, if there will be any

king mo looked to have gassed early on. gegard was throwing good strikes from the bottom.
towards the end of the fight, i think gegard shouldnt have planted his feet, or shouldve been stationary because we all knew the takedown was coming.
rounds 2-5 looked just about the same. gegard did more damage and mo controlled the fight
idk. i still have to have given it to mo

i thought shinya wouldve trained in the cage, but i learned otherwise.
good gameplanning from gilbert. aoki took some good shots during the fight

dan, you let me down! i saw the takedowns coming, i dont know if he just couldnt react fast enough or what. i dont know how you can mount for 20 min and not finish. to me it didnt look like he was too close to finishing.

- first off ill start with the werdum/silva fight. werdum looked very good his last fight. silvas a very good opponent but i think werdum is just the better fighter all around, he should take this.

-the mousasi soko fight shouldve happened already but now theyre going to get another crack at it
mousasis the better allaround fighter and should win. soko will most likely come strong for the first two min and go downhill from there.
BUT
im picking soko via tko

-jasons going to tko jake. jake wont be able to take him down, even if he does, no big deal.

joe doesnt have the standup to take fisher. the groundwork wont be a problem.

i still think johnson has suspect submission defense, but i dont think yoshida will be the one to exploit them. johnsons standup is explosive and unpredictable. i think its very possible for the tko but i think yoshida will last till the judges and lose via unanimus

havent done this in awhile, over a year in face. anyways, i just finished watching some of the top 100 ufc fights and the countdown show.

to keep this short and get to the point, im gonna give my unneeded predictions

i know this sounds stupid but ive never been inpressed with mir or bisping. idk. yes i do know that mir already beat lesnar. i see lesnar tkoing mir, and bisping being tkod by henderson

the gsp and alves fight, im not so sure on. alves looks like if any one of his strikes land, youre going to eat canvas. but i think gsp will outpoint and out-wrestle alves for the win, and he may even tko him

so thats it...an abrupt end, just thought id put my two cents in

i have to say the co and main event had me excited, and a somewhat nervous when each bout came to begin. i wasnt sure what was going to happen and i loved that. for brock/mir, i wanted to see a great fight. i wanted to see brock impress the ppl that doubted him, win or lose, and i wanted to see frank wrong all his naysayers.

what a great fight. for however long it lasted. brock did exactly what i tought he was going to do, and so did mir.

as for sylvia/nog. i was speechless at the outcome, but the complete opposite as the fight was unfolding. this is what i consider an MMA fight. anyways, great performance by both fighters, this is something you have to watch for yourself, something you cant read.
